This Maine wilderness honey came mostly from woodland asters and silver rods that bloom in abundance in the fall in our remote woodlands of Maine.

 

At our ForestBeehive apiary, we are far removed from agricultural and agricultural & industrial pollution, and our bees are never exposed to human-engineered chemicals or any acids, or oils.

 

Here we have enough natural foraging, so unlike conventional beekeepers, we don’t feed any sugar to our bees.

 

We harvest only surplus honey, and instead of sugar leave our bees enough of their own honey.

 

With 100% natural foraging, and no sugar feedings, our honey harvest is up to 10 times smaller than the average conventional honey harvest as their frequent sugar feedings boost production.

 

Here we go for honey’s quality over its quantity. And this way it’s healthier both for us & for the bees.

 

With no sugar feedings, our honeybees gather pollen and nectar only from real flowers, with each flower imparting some of its soul, its unique essence, flavor, and goodness to the honey.

In contrast, when conventional beekeepers feed their bees sugar to boost production, 

the resulting conventional honey is missing many vital benefits and nutritional properties and develops a more standardized industrial taste.
